About this experience
Most visitors reach Christ the Redeemer by train or van. This trail starts behind the mansion at Parque Lage, in Jardim Botânico, and climbs through the forest for about 2 to 3 hours. There are steep sections and a few rock steps with chains to hold on to. Marmosets and toucans are common along the way, and some viewpoints open up over the Lagoon before you reach the 710-metre summit of Corcovado.
