About this experience

Tijuca Peak stands at 1,021 metres, the highest point in Tijuca National Park. The trail leaves from Bom Retiro in Tijuca Forest, is well marked and almost entirely shaded. The last stretch is a stairway cut into the rock, with an iron handrail. From the top the view runs from Guanabara Bay to Pedra da Gávea and, on clear days, to the mountains of Serra dos Órgãos.
