About this experience
The hang-gliding ramp on Pedra Bonita sits at about 520 metres inside Tijuca National Park. You fly harnessed to an instructor pilot, with the forest below, Pedra da Gávea beside you and the ocean ahead, then land on Pepino Beach. The flight lasts 8 to 15 minutes depending on the wind. Beforehand, if you like, we do the short trail to the top of Pedra Bonita.
Hang glider or paraglider? The hang glider is faster and you fly lying down; the paraglider is slower and you sit. Both launch from the same ramp with pilots certified for tandem flights.

How the day goes
- Hotel pickup and drive up Estrada das Canoas to Pedra Bonita.
- Optional: a 30 to 40-minute hike to the top of Pedra Bonita.
- Briefing with your pilot, gear and waiting for the right wind.
- Take-off, flight over São Conrado and landing on the beach.
- Return to your hotel.
