About this experience
The Santa Teresa tram leaves Largo da Carioca and crosses the Lapa Arches, an 18th-century aqueduct, before climbing the neighbourhood's steep streets. Up top we visit Parque das Ruínas, with a view over the bay, and local artists' studios. Walking down, we end at the Selarón Steps, covered in tiles from dozens of countries, and the Metropolitan Cathedral with its 64-metre stained-glass windows.
